Family and Interests
Brent C. Brown was born in Atlanta, Georgia and raised in Cobb County, Georgia, and is married to the former Carla Mathis of Marianna Florida. They have twin daughters, LizAnn and Maddie, and Goddaughter, Sarah. He has a love for history, both business and military, especially the WWII era. Due to the numerous artifacts that fill its quarters, visitors often describe the Chesley Brown Corporate Office as “The Museum.” He’s an avid quail hunter, golfer, and also enjoys English horseback riding and a rare game of golf. Brent's wife Carla is very involved in their daughters’ activities along with volunteering in the community. In 2007 Brent and Carla founded The Blessings of Grace Foundation. The organization helps build families of couples dealing with infertility.
Background
Brent C. Brown has an extensive background in law enforcement and security. He was a Police officer in the metropolitan Atlanta area holding positions with duties ranging from uniform patrol to “Acting Chief”. He also established a security consulting business handling security-related concerns for retail, office complexes, warehouses, and hotels. In 1990, he entered the private security industry with the formation of Chesley Brown Associates, Inc. handling numerous high-profile security projects across the country. He served as a security expert for both local and international media regarding the Olympic Park bombing during the 1996 Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia. Due to his expertise with terrorist incidents and security concerns, he is frequently called upon to speak at Civic Associations, Chambers of Commerce, Security Schools, and other large business organizations.
Since 1994, Brown has served as security expert and commentator on all the Atlanta TV Network affiliates as well as CNN, The Today Show, MSNBC, NBC, German Television, Japanese Television, “Good Morning Great Britain”, “Hard Copy”, Hannity and Combs, The Nancy Grace Show, NBC Nightly News, and ABC News as well as numerous radio shows including WSB Radio and Voice of America. Print articles vary from The Wall Street Journal, Atlanta news publications, The Christian Science Monitor, and The London Times to the Tampa Tribune, among others, including numerous industry trade journal publications. He is currently a regular contributor on security and law enforcement issues for Atlanta’s ABC affiliate.
